Family Photo planning.

We have family photos this Thursday!

I am so excited for them! We are in desperate need of a good family photo. With Family photos comes fun and stress of styling them. I have this fabric from Anna Maria Horner (below) that I have had a long time. I was scared to cut it, use it. It is my favorite for some reason and just so hard to sew because I get scared I will mess it up. Silly I know. I should just dive in and use all my favorite fabrics and I am sure along the way my confidence will grow.

Our family photos will be shot by a friend who is going to be in town for a film photography workshop. She will be using film shooting us. Her photos are beautiful in digital and I am sure they will turn out wonderful in film too.

I shopped Saturday for things we needed to pull the look together that I envisioned. I am making my pencil skirt from the fabric you see above. The kids will be mix matched with the fabric that goes with that.  (You can see a peek of it in the top left corner of the pic.)

AM will be in cute new dark skinny Jeans and a top I am making from Mcalls Pattern 6022

Olea will be in a cute mustard color top from Downeast clothing and a skirt I am making.

DownEast Basics

Kailani will be in a sweet Downeast clothing brown dress with a funky head wrap I am making.

Sophie will be wearing the Bali Break Tunic top turned into a dress. I will add length for it to be a dress. She will also wear knee high socks with lace on them that I will add like this adorable Pinterest photo.
adorable right?

gathering supplies is always fun!

Bali Break Tunic pattern all cut and ready!

All of the girls will wear brown shoes we just got them and Sophie has brown tall boots.

Conan Man and Tobin will be in blues and greys.

The actual photos and location are still undecided. I have ideas but we will have to change things up because of weather and our family car is having issues so we will make a fun trip out of it and take the train into SLC. Shall be fun.

Wish me luck on all the sewing.
Currently our place is 80 degrees and I am waiting for the repair man to fix our air conditioning

hotttttttt.

Have a great day!

  1. I am so excited to see how your pictures turn out! I am not a confident sewer and have never made anything but quilts for my girls so I love that you jump in feet first! We will be doing family photos next month for our 10th anniversary. I'm so excited!
